At Education First FCU, putting members first is at the heart of everything we do, and that commitment is reflected in our employees every day š One team member who truly embodies this mission is Weston McGraw, a consumer loan servicer who has been with Education First for over four years, serving in a variety of roles across the organization. Whether heās navigating a complex issue or simply taking the time to listen, Weston is dedicated to ensuring every member feels supported and valued. We recently sat down with him to learn more about his role and how he continues to make a positive impact on the members he serves.
Starting as a teller at the Rosedale branch back in 2021, Weston gained firsthand experience working directly with members and supporting them with their everyday banking needs. From the very beginning, he understood the importance of creating a positive experience the moment someone walks through the door. āA saying we had in the branches was to āroll out the red carpet,āā he said. āIt was all about making sure every member is greeted with positive energy right away.ā That mindset continues to shape how he serves members in every role he takes on.
Since then, Weston has worked in the ITM department, and now serves our Consumer Lending team, bringing that member-first mindset with him. During his time with the ITM department, he helped members through the drive-thru, bringing a positive attitude towards every interaction and assisted members using our new ITM technology. Now that he has transitioned over to the Consumer Lending team, his role isnāt as member-facing, but that doesnāt stop him from helping our members whenever he can. āI recall a time where we were helping with an auto loan and a problem arose and we had to make a bunch of phone calls, talk to the state, and talk to the dealership. However, we got it done and when I talked to our member, I could tell he really appreciated it and that was cool to hear.ā
Throughout his 4+ years with Education First, one of the things that has stayed consistent is Westonās love for the job. āIt is really fulfilling to look back after my day and think āI really did that, I really helped that member,ā he said. Across every role, what motivates him most is knowing heās making a meaningful difference in membersā daily experiences. Another thing that remained consistent was the positive atmosphere at work that he has experienced since starting his career at Education First. He said, āOne of the reasons I love working here is us always having this positive energy and always having a bunch of fun.ā
