Education First FCU employee with magenta background

Meet Danielle Johnson, our Mortgage Loan Underwriter! 🌟

Whether she’s helping a member secure a mortgage loan or creating a positive and supportive workplace, Danielle brings dedication and care to everything she does at Education First FCU. As a Mortgage Loan Underwriter for the past four years, she has played an important role in helping members navigate the homebuying process while supporting Education First FCU’s mission of being the best financial institution for our members. We recently sat down with her to learn more about her experience, what motivates her, and what she enjoys most about being part of the Education First FCU team.

When Danielle joined the team in 2022, one of the first things that stood out to her was the people. “When I first started working here, everyone felt like family,” she said. “People were always smiling and willing to help each other out. No matter what was going on, you could always ask someone for assistance, and they would do whatever they could to help.” That welcoming environment helped her quickly settle into her role and build connections across the organization.

Now, as a member of the Brand Champion program, she works to bring that same welcoming spirit into the community. “One thing I really enjoy is how involved we are in the community,” she said. “One of the main events I love is going to the ARC Center, where we get a chance to help out there.” Through opportunities like these, she’s able to connect with others and represent the people-first culture that first stood out to her when she joined the team.

As a member of the mortgage department, she has the opportunity to help members through one of the biggest milestones in their lives: buying a home. Through that experience, she has seen firsthand how Education First FCU stands apart in the way it supports members. “The main way we impact our members is by being there for them when they are in need,” she said. “Instead of just turning them away, we actively look for the best solution to help them with whatever they need. We aim to treat each member like they are family or close friends.”

That personal connection is what makes the work so rewarding for her. “Whenever members close on their home, I just feel so happy for them,” she said.

Whether Danielle is helping make the home-buying process smoother for our members or volunteering in the community, she continues to make a positive impact. Her passion for helping others reflects the people-first culture that defines Education First FCU and the commitment to making a difference in our members’ lives every day. If you’re ready to begin your home-buying journey, Danielle and the rest of our mortgage team are here to help. Get started today!
